Buckwalter Stove Works – Royersford

With the Schuylkill Canal opening in Spring City, just across the Schuylkill River, and the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad beginning service to the area in 1839; it was no coincidence that several farms in Limerick Township would be transformed into the industrial town of Royersford. Some of the more significant industries shown along the river are: The Buckwalter Stove Works, the Royersford Machine Co., the Emmers Hosiery Mill, the Enterprise Hosiery Mill, the Bush Brothers Planning Mill, the Floyd Wells Stove Co., the Grander Stove Co., the Diamond Glass Co., and the Keystone Meter Co.
