Please join us to celebrate its progress at this informal event that will take place in a tented and heated area at 351 W. Bridge St. – near the Borough Hall parking lot. This is adjacent to the place where the wheel will finally have a permanent home when its restoration is completed.
The proceeds from this event will support our initiative to restore the historic Phoenix Wheel so it can be installed on the Borough’s property, adjacent to the French Creek Trail.

Pennsylvania’s Cavity Nesting Birds: Eastern Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and Northern Chickadees
Marilyn Michalski is a former teacher and is currently a Board member of the Bluebird Socirty of PA. She is also an active volunteer who teaches many people. She has written about ways to help to conserve and protect native birds. She also established a Bluebird Trail and a local farm in our region. She will present the story of The Current Status of Pennsylvania’s Cavity Nesting Birds: Eastern Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and Northern Chickadees.

Crossing the Schuylkill River: Two Centuries of Bridge Building
Justin M. Spivey is a licensed professional engineer with a passion for railroads, bridges, and rowhouses. He is a Fellow of the Association for Preservation Technology International and vice chair of its Delaware Valley Chapter. He has also documented dozens of bridges in Pennsylvania, Chicago, and Texas for the National Park Service’s Historic American Engineering Record.
